The world acclaimed Boshoi Ballet will be performing Aram Khatchaturian's Spartcus at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts from February 16- 21, 2010 in the Opera House.
The Bolshoi is bringing what was long its signature work, namely Yuri Grigorovich's choreography of Spartacus, about a slave revolt in Roman times. The ballet company has not danced this work in Washington since 1975. In the past few years, the Bolshoi has been reinvigorated by a new generation of dancers, and Spartacus was again a big hit when the company danced it in London a summer ago.
Tickets are available through the Kennedy Center box office or by internet (www.kennedy-center.org)
Ticket prices range from $47 -$135 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday are slightly higher).
Spartacus will be performed on:
Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.
